up and coming dreams

Hi lovelies. Can I just say that you are the most wonderful group of people... ever? Thank you so, so much for lending your support in the Whole Food's Foodie Fantasy Contest. Alas, I was not one of the eight chosen to go the next round. Oh well! It's fine, I feel so loved and appreciated and deserving and it's all because of y-o-u.
Which got me thinking: if I don't feel that way all the time, then most of you and others probably don't either. And that's just not okay. (Don't worry, I'm not going to overload you with positive mantras today. Not again at least. Ha. ) We deserve our opportunities and we get them, they just happen to occur at their own leisure as they should. For instance, three months ago I'd applied to countless jobs, had gone on multiple first interviews and through two painful series of interviews, and was freelancing but basically unemployed. I went to Costa Rica and Panama until I had to come home early because I was running out of money. Then, I landed a first job that couldn't be more of a perfect fit. I didn't have to win to end up with exactly what I wanted. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, "the possibilities you long for actually exist." A few up and coming dreams of my own:
  • Get a Manhattan apartment with friends.
  • Host a dinner party when I do.
  • Go skydiving before I'm too afraid to do so. Maybe.
  • Visit a winery in the Hamptons.
  • Return to Santiago to visit my Chilean host family.
  • Land a head stand in yoga class.
  • Be more mindful of my seafood choices.
  • Learn how to play chess.
  • Join a Spanish & French speaking group.
  • Delve deeper into a meditation practice.
  • Volunteer more. Perhaps a walk for breast cancer too?
  • Take a trip to Southeast Asia.

  1. I love the positivity in your post- I'm about to graduate college and anxious about not being able to nail down a job/all the letdown the job search tends to foster. However, you said it right- sometimes it just takes a while to find THAT job which is the perfect fit :)

  2. Those are beautiful dreams on your list!

I've been disappointed a few times with job searches and such in the past - but it always ends up that I find something that's just RIGHT. Sometimes it takes a while, but we get to where we're meant to be.

  3. I wish you all the luck to make all those dreams come to reality. I know you will but just don't keep that head stand too long :)
