lite-brite for spring

¡Hola, my loves! How is everyone? I'm fine, having made it through my last midterms (with flying colors, I hope) and a ridiculously long day of driving. This week's highlight? The weather. Syracuse was absolutely beautiful with the most wonderful "breaking into spring" sunshine, very appropriate that it come out to play directly before spring break :).
And so, I took that as an opportunity to play around with the light in our dining room. I woke up late on Thursday (like the 12:30 p.m. kind of late) without any real reason for doing so... except, maybe, possibly, because I had hardly gotten any sleep earlier in the week with all of my assignment-preparing and midterm-studying.
Gotta make up for it somehow ;). As a result, breakfast (lunch?) consisted of a banana, handful of walnuts, and this salad. Yes, a salad upon waking, 'twas perfection. Then I leisurely got myself ready and skipped through the springtime breeze to Spanish & Latin American Literature class.
Our lovely professor let us leave early after some group work on our individual essays. Sounds silly, I know, but it helped me since I hadn't finished the book yet. We were supposed to have finished it by Tuesday, oops! At least I'll have something to read over spring break, right?
I am a true rebel. So much so, that although I've probably reached my Glo Bar praising quota, I am going to continue on. Coming home to a package of these beauties was such a glorious feeling. Why am I such a die-hard fan, you ask? Well, not only are Angela's bars scrumptious, they're also filling and sustaining. The best snack. ever. And cheaper when you buy in bulk.
I didn't delve in right then and there though since I intend to make this shipment last me through the end of the semester :). Instead, I went for a run (yay) and straight into dinner time. I was starving a.k.a. two bowls of broccoli & tomato sauce and another of brown rice pasta with sundried-tomato alfredo sauce. There's a new phrase for times like these: please, yum, thank you.
I spent the next few hours of my evening packing, followed by a visit  to K's with Julia and our friend Vino.
We (plus my forever roomie C) shared a sophomore year apartment, so although this girl talk was the first of the year, it was hardly the first of it's kind, nor the last :). I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life, in addition to the magnificent pair that is crackers and hummus.
Afterwards we went down to Marshall Street to mingle with more crowds. I definitely underestimated how many people had already left! A grand ol' time -> me, in bed by three.
Wish I could've slept late this morning because of it! Only kind of kidding ;). Reality: I woke up bright and early at nine, began my day with strawberry banana oats and green tea, walked over to pick up my car, filled it with friends and things, and headed home.
Le voiture got such a workout today, and based on how exhausted I am, it's going to be the only one. I drove from Syracuse to JFK to drop off Abby and Emily, (they're in LA, I'm so jealous), then to the Bronx, (broke it off with the boy; logic is beyond unfortunate in love) , and finally to my home sweet home to rest up for spring break festivities. The last part of that, the bright side of things, will include but is not limited to: my cousin's birthday party, best friend reunions, museum-hopping, a blogging potluck dinner, beer & wine tastings, cheap tourist attractions, and FitBloggin'! No matter what, I deserve to keep the fun glowing. I'll keep you posted on how much.
