heavenly (seattle - coeur d'alene, id)

I never expected Northern Idaho to be so quaint nor so beautiful.
To be honest, I hadn't expected anything really since I'm so unfamiliar with the state.
But boy was I impressed with Coeur d'Alene.
It seemed like such a perfect place to raise a cute little family.

And apparently it is, as my bed and breakfast hosts told me.

I arrived later in the evening and dined on homemade lentil soup (from Seattle) and fresh-picked plums.
There was no internet. I chatted with other guests, crawled into bed after the sun had set, curled up with my book, and eventually drifted off to sleep.
It was glorious. I felt completely renewed the next morning.
To some degree, I don't doubt it was also the promises of whole grain oatmeal waffles, real maple syrup, and fresh berries that sprung me out of bed.
The delectable meal was followed with a tour of their organic garden. Because they have one.
My time in Coeur d'Alene was short and wonderfully sweet thanks to the generosity of Per and Ellen at Cedar Springs B&B. I am so, so glad I decided to stop there. By nine on that Wednesday morning, I had expressed my gratitude, said my goodbyes, and was on my way once again...

  1. girl, it looks gorgeous there!! i love watching your vlogs :)

  2. What a trip you're having! I'm really happy that you're documenting it for us.

  3. OMG!!! I live 45 minutes from Coeur d' Alene!!! That is soooooo cool that you were in my neighborhood :] It seems like nobody EVER talks about the northwest but it really is a beautiful place to visit! Hope you're enjoying your trip.

  4. Hey, Danielle!
Thank you so much for the sweet comment you've left me on my blog - that was really nice of you :)
Intuitive eating is basically learning to hear your body. Eating when you're hungry, stopping when you're full, honoring cravings...It's definitely not the easiest path, but it seems like the best way to recover to me - no extremes.
Beautiful pics, by the way! I can't wait to hear from you again :D
Hope you have a wonderful week!
    Brazilian XOXO's,

  6. Awww! I just stumbled across your blog. I lived directly across the street from the white house (your fifth photo from the top). That way my view, everyday. I know the person who lives in that house matter o' fact lol I loved it there, and miss it oh so much, it was nice to see it here. I was not native to Idaho either, and was similarly smitting with CDA. <3

    1. Aw, how funny! What a beautiful hometown you have :).

Penny for your thoughts...
