café mocha

Aside from shoveling the driveway with my brother this afternoon (which by the way is amazing exercise... I burned nearly 250 calories) it's been a pretty lazy day inside. Around 4 I had a great big cup of coffee mixed with hot cocoa, note the title :) and then for dinner, a bowl of cereal. Sad I know, but I wasn't in the mood for much of anything else.
Although I do look pretty (blah), I'm actually pretty excited for tomorrow, my Aunt Lidia's wedding! I haven't been to one in a long time but being that I'm a hopeless romantic, I haven't seen this side of the family in a long time, I love getting dressed up and the boyfriend is coming as my date, I'm bound to have an amazing time. Maybe they'll even have a cake like this masterpiece created by Lulu Cake Boutique in Scarsdale, NY. A girl can dream can't she? ;) Have a spectacular night and Saturday lovelies!

snowed in...

...and busy baking! What else would I be doing? :) But we'll get there, first an overview of our snow day so far. Welcome to my front yard.
Once the snow started coming down we let our dogs out to play around. They were so excited about the snow, plus, it's Colby's first winter!
Since mostly everything is closed in the area most of my mom's "kids" didn't come today but we did have Tiernan, so I bundled him up and out he went with the puppies and my little sister. He's so cute.
It ended up being the perfect soup day as I had predicted so I broke out my mom's beef stew from Wednesday for a hearty and filling lunch.
Stew gets better with every day. Scrumptious.
And during the blizzard, Mi mama y yo were busy in the kitchen making our Butterscotch & Walnut Oatmeal cookies.
They look yummy and I'm not going to have one. Does anyone like butterscotch? Ha, I obviously don't but it was still fun making them and now the house smells delish. I would get back to reading like I was this morning but I really should do some of my French exercises. N'est pas?

whole foods = whole me

I went today! For the first time in 6 months! Can you believe it?! It was incredible, lol, I love that place. I spent so much time browsing through the aisles like a kid in a candy store :). I also bought a few things, although I cannot share them with you all... they're for the receiver of my Secret Santa gift. Speaking of, I must warn this mystery blogger now... I'm not positive your package will make it to you by December 25th, I do hope that's alright. Thanks again Sarah for such holiday fun!
For dinner I devoured a h-u-g-e salad. Some parts were from Whole Foods like the roasted vegetables, garlic broccoli, edamame, and bbq tofu, but the rest was out of my own kitchen. It was sooo good! I'm trying to eat extra clean seeing as my body had time to cleanse itself and I would hate to redo any damage. During the holidays this kind of health-conscious eating is especially tough though... so wish me luck! Did I mention that I had a big glass of Argentine wine for dessert? No? Well, that would be why I'm feeling extra happy right now 0:). I took a beautiful picture with the bottle, the glass, and my family's recently decorated Christmas tree in the background, but I can't seem to find my mom's camera. Ha. Hate it when that happens. Sweet dreams lovelies!
Edited to Add: Actually... found it! Wonderful.
