Good morning/afternoon! Man oh man did it feel good to sleep in this morning! Last night marked my first taste of night life in Santiago, and all in all I'd have to say, I'm a fan. We started out at the Choripanada which was wasn't as thrilling as I had hoped. I feel like forced mixers like that never work out too well, people tend to stick with the group they come with, especially the first time. I did meet a group of Australians though that show some "friend potential," haha, so it wasn't all a waste. Afterwards we took the metro uptown to the Bellavista area. I wish I had my camera with me, it is such a nice area, lots of classy bars, restaurants, and patios. And I can tell it's going to be even better once it warms up for good! I was at a nice buzz the entire night but since I haven't drank in a while I decided to head in early, according to Chilean time at least, 3:30 am, I'm such an old woman ;).
So yeah, I really needed my sleep. Probably could've slept longer too but I don't want my family to think I'm a bum! I woke up still tired and in need of water and it took me about an hour and a half to want breakfast. But, in all seriousness, when my appetite came, it came on strong! I ate dinner around 7 the night before and although the opportunity to snack came up numerous times throughout the night I decided against it. Anyway, I ended up having a double-decker PBBJ & flax sandwich. The whole wheat bread that they buy is actually quite low in calorie (140 for 2 slices) so it's not quite as much as you'd think. Either way it was what I was craving and totally hit the spot.
Dinner last night was this ^ times two. It's ann 8-inch whole wheat tortilla with mashed avocado, tuna, lettuce, tomato, and onions. My "mom" and I had limited time and resources so we had to make something quick! Oh so scrumptious! Gosh, I love it here :). Okay, and finally onto what the post title is referring to. *I need your help. Like I mentioned before I'm trying to get myself into running shape and have been doing something physical daily, but to be quite honest, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing! I used to be active in sports and dance in high school, freshman year of college I went through phases of regular spinning and kickboxing classes, and I love doing yoga any day but this whole real exercise thing is unfortunately really new to me. I know that a lot of you wonderful bloggers are doing amazingly with your fitness habits and have experience in working your way up so I'm just looking for any advice you can offer. I'll really take any words of wisdom I can get, I'm such a newbie. Thanks in advance, hope you're enjoying the weekend! I'm off to whip up that hummus!
